Emergency PlumberWhen plumbing emergencies occur, you don’t have a moment to waste. Fast action means the difference between a problem and a crisis.

Have a strategy ready in case you need to contact an emergency plumber.

  • Know When to Contact the Plumber- First, you need to determine whether you need to contact the emergency plumber. If you have a large amount of water flowing into your home, you absolutely need to contact the plumber. In addition, you should contact the plumber if your plumbing issue is making your home unsafe. For instance, if you have a sewage backup, contact an emergency plumber right away.
  • Shut Off the Water- If a pipe or water line has burst, shut the water off at the main shutoff valve. Otherwise, the home or yard will continue to flood, and the problem will get worse.
  • Shut Off Your Water Heater- If you have a gas water heater, shut off the gas valve so the gas stops flowing. If you fail to do this, gas might continue to flow to the empty water heater, heating it up. The heat could seriously damage your water heater.
  • Start the Clean-Up Process- If possible, start cleaning up the water. The longer it sits in the house, the more damage it will do. Our plumbers will resume cleanup after they arrive, but it is always a good idea to get a jump on the cleanup efforts if possible.

An emergency plumber can save you from a disaster. You can make the outcome even better by putting this plan in place when an emergency occurs.
